As we mentioned in the first edition of Sports Lore one man paved the way for Jerry and I to try a sports website. His name is Bill Shefski, and for many he lives on in our minds and hearts. After Bill died his family decided to create a small scholarship fund in his name. At least the name many of the young knew him as. That was "Pops", as so many children and grandchildren called him that.

On Augst 8, 2008 the family will be hosting a fundraiser to continue the scholarship. Last year the money raised went to several projects including sports equipment for local schools and a scholarship to a few High School Seniors. The details of the fund raiser are to follow. If there are any questions let Jerry the webmaster or me know, and we will pass them on to the family.
