Letters From The Grandstand

5 lb. of hamburger
1 large bell pepper, chopped into about ¼ in. cubes
1 medium to large Spanish or Vadalia onion, chopped into ¼ in. cubes
2 cups salad croutons or cubed stuffing mix
1 cup ketchup or bar-b-que sauce
parsley
oregano
basil
pepper

In a large bowl, mix broken up hamburger and ketchup or bar-b-que sauce, this will make the hamburger easier to work with. Add in peppers and onion and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle mix generously with pepper, parsley, oregano, and basil and mix thoroughly again. Add in the croutons or stuffing mix and mix thoroughly again. now you can make the patties.

I got 12 burgers, about 7 oz. each using 75% lean hamburger. You can also add or substitute red or green peppers, mushrooms, or anything else you fancy. The burgers taste best when cooked on a grill.
