I would like to invite anyone who may
be interested to take some time out of your busy schedules
and treat yourself to the reading of a project of passion
that I have been working on. It is a trivia history
book about the AFL that is explained below. If you are
also interested please contact me at dsteidel@enter.net
- I am looking for feedback as to the interest and accuracy
of the book and have anyone who reads it to consider
writing a short paragraph of your thoughts about the
book and the league for inclusion either in it or on
the back cover.
By trade I am a high school guidance counselor
who has always dreamed of writing a book about the league
that brought so much enjoyment and memories to my life.
I am as passionate about the AFL today as I was over
forty years ago - and would like to share that with
interested readers around the country.
Below is one of the introductory pages
from the book.
Remember the
AFL: The American Football League 1960-1969 Trivia History
is a nostalgic journey back in time through remembrances
of a league that everyone thought to be doomed before
it began.
From its introduction
to the final page this book will take its readers on
a timeless ride back to an era that they will remember
with the innocence and passion of their youth. Relive
the history of the AFL and engage the challenge of 500
historical trivia questions.
Each section
of this book embraces the roots and evolution of the
league, complete with yearly recaps of each team. Reminisce
the time capsule events that forged the history of the
league, along with the multitude of names and faces
of the players who authored the records and numbers
and created the incomparable story of the American Football
League.
Lance Alworth,
Clem Daniels, George Blanda, Buck Buchanan, Wahoo McDaniel,
Abner Haynes, and Joe Namath, are all here, as are Ben
Davidson, Pete Gogolak, Jim Nance, Billy Cannon and
Cookie Gilchrist along with many more names, faces and
events that will pique your recall, satisfy your appetite
and ignite your passion to REMEMBER THE AFL!
