Affiliation with Retired Boxers Foundation caput!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 2, 2007

[Simi Valley, CA] The Retired Boxers Foundation regrets to inform the public that their affiliation with AutographedToYou.com has terminated effective immediately. Alex Ramos, the Founder and President of the Retired Boxers Foundation, was officially notified today by a former employee of AutographedToYou.com that ATY is no longer in business and that the owner, Byron Lancaster, is being investigated by the Attorney General, Charlie Crist. This came as no surprise to the RBF because of a number of phone calls received over the past two weeks, including calls from retired boxers who have their photos on the website. The original agreement between the Retired Boxers Foundation, who helped ATY launch the partnership at the Playboy Mansion in 2003, was that for every autograph/photo sold by ATY, the athlete would receive 33 1/3 % of the sale price, and one third would go to the Retired Boxers Foundation, with the remaining third, to ATY. Unfortunately, shortly after the ATY site was launched, one of the primary partners left the company. Byron Lancaster, the sole proprietor of ATY was never able to properly fund the venture, turning down any offers that would assume more than 50% ownership. "It is unfortunate that ATY has been forced to close and we regret any inconvenience to those who supported this venture. Fortunately, we were a recipient of their charitable efforts and many retired professional boxers made a little money working with ATY," said RBF Executive Director, Jacquie Richardson. Richardson and Ramos will be working with the Attorney General to help clear up any unpaid debts to any boxers that participated in the venture. They encourage anyone who has done business with ATY and may be owed money, to contact Attorney General Charlie Crist, directly. The address is: Office of Attorney General, State of Florida, The Capitol PL-01, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050. The Website is: http://myfloridalegal.com/contact. Complaints can be filed directly from the site.
