John Paul Jr. was born February 19, 1960 in Muncie, Indiana. John Paul, Jr. has raced in NASCAR, SCCA Trans-Am, Sports Car, USRRC, IMSA GTP, American Le-Mans, Grand American, Indy Racing League, and CART, including seven drives in the Indy 500, a 1998 Lone Star win, and a 1983 Michigan 500 win. He finished second in class twice at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France and has two victories in the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona. In 1979, John Paul, Jr. won his first race at Sebring in SCCA Formula Ford. Then in 1982, Paul and his father John Paul, Sr. won the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring in a Porsche 935 Turbo, the last time the same drivers and car won both classics in the same year.
